Lisbon will host TAFISA World Games

For a whole week, Lisbon will host the 7th World Sports for All TAFISA Games, the biggest of TAFISA, held every four years, bringing together in each edition more than 50 000 participants from around 100 countries. The 7th World Sport for All TAFISA Games, in Lisbon, will take place between 1st and 7th October of 2020. The organization of this world event is the responsibility of Confederação Portuguesa do Desporto de Portugal and Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth, with the support of Lisbon City Hall. The World Sports Games for All TAFISA aim to protect, preserve and promote the Traditional Games and Sports (TSG) recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The World Sport for All TAFISA Games promotes competition but also enhance the fun and participation of everyone who is part of the world event. Traditional games and sports have the power to attract the attention of people who, typically, do not practice sports or any physical activity, to build bridges between cultures, generations and to promote social inclusion. In October, we can say that the world meets in Lisbon to enjoy diversity, experiences, new friendships, demonstrating the cultural pride of each country and setting aside all the racial, nationality, religion, gender or age issues. It is important to mention that Sport for All aims to contribute to a better quality of life, whether in individual, social, community and national terms.
