7th World Sport for All Games and 5th Centenary of the First Circum-Navigation trip establish partnership for the promotion of sport for all and cultural sharing among peoples

The 7th World Sport for All Games (JMDpT) and the celebrations of the 5th Centenary of the First Circum-Navigation trip, led by the Portuguese navigator Fernão de Magalhães and concluded by the Spanish Juan Sabástian Elcano, established a collaborative partnership to promote the Sports for All and cultural sharing between populations.

Sharing the same values of cooperation and the connection between populations, the Organizing Committee of the 7th TAFISA World Sport for All Games, Lisbon 2021 and the Mission Structure for the Celebrations of the 5th Centenary of Circum-Navigation led by the Portuguese navigator Fernão de Magalhães - 2019 | 2022 intend to highlight these values and invoke the Magalhães legacy, during the Games, that will be held in the Portuguese and European Capital of Sport, between 18 and 24 June.

The JMDpT, are an event that brings together color, dance, games, culture and promotes peace, friendship and fun, offering a unique experience of discovery, because the different delegations, coming from every corner of the world, demonstrate their traditional and modern games and sports.

The expedition led by Magalhães also represents gratitude for the spirit and strength of the collective capable of facing extraordinary challenges.

The approximation between populations, the establishment of intercultural relations and the sharing of worldviews that the realization of these games allows is, like the heritage of the expedition of Magalhães and Elcano, a way to know our world in its different dimensions - cultural, geographical, anthropological and natural.

Revisiting this important moment in human history through the promotion of sport, as a form of cooperation between nations, is also an opportunity for reflection on the vision of a more tolerant society that we certainly share and definition of the world fairer and more sustainable, at the cultural, economic, social and environmental level, promoting the sea and marine ecosystems, as the first link between all nations, as Magalhães did 500 years ago.
