Traditional Portuguese Games

The World Sport for All Games, which will be held in Lisbon between 18 and 24 June 2021 and by being the main event of the International Association of Sport for All – TAFISA, promotes the inclusion of the Traditional Portuguese Games, is considered a strong bet in its dissemination, with children, young people and adults through several structures linked, mainly to Sport for All.

Being an activity of popular and playful character, carried out between several seasons, each one, with different games, leads the different players to the possibility to integrate themselves in the spirit that the Games endorse, that also exist during the event, and this strong connection between the participants is a demonstration of culture sharing, because the game should be seen as a party.

The event brings delegations from more than 80 countries to Lisbon to demonstrate their traditional games on the Jardim Vasco da Gama and Jardim da Torre de Belém and also being seen in another city squares, allowing the public to participate on this opportunity, that should not go to waste, and experiencing in each of the respective squares, the effect that it contains in its cultural tradition, getting involved in the spirit of sharing that is evident in the essence of the Traditional Games.

Within the scope of the Activities Plan for the World Games, this gives us the certainty that we can offer to all those who visit us and our countrymen, moments of coexistence and participation in the wide range of sports activities within the scope of Sport for All, without the competitive spirit itself.
