In the 7th TAFISA World Sport for All Games Lisbon 2021 program, School Day is predicted and aimed to all schools and students who wants to participate, with greater incidence on first year of primary school students in the Lisbon area, with the objective of promoting physical activity practice, exercise, and ludic-sports activities, as well as the experimentation of traditional and popular games, and emerging games and sports.
With the current pandemic context, it became impossible for schools to travel to the venues of the event, so the world games went to schools. Therefore, several schools in Lisbon opened their doors so that the games could meet children and young people, allowing them to contact and experience different practices presented.
More than 2000 students, from seven schools of the 1st year of primary school education, two schools of the 2nd year of primary school and one high school, had the opportunity to try and practice traditional and popular games, as well as many other games of a playful and sporting nature, which are inclusive (sports for disabled and/or adapted), of an emerging nature (new sports), or even games of a playful nature and promoting distinctive motor learning.
The children played a part in all different activities, always properly framed, and carried out in compliance with all safety standards established by the national health authorities.
